Report shows pathways to success in brave new world

Schools will need to open their doors to stronger relationships with employers and workplaces if students are to thrive in a future world rich with artificial intelligence and disruptive technologies. The 16 teams selected to compete in the inaugural Game Changer Challenge in Education Week have been announced. Superfast scooters to transport students between classes, time travel excursions to key moments in history, sustainable schools that are self-sufficient in power, water and food and real-time brain scans to track student learning and wellbeing. Rugby at AHS

Update from Friday 25th May at Sport UNE. Armidale High School had several students compete in the first home matches for the newly formed Armidale Combined Schools Junior Rugby Union Club vs football code powerhouse Farrer Agricultural Memorial High School. Year 8 students Ali Alzuwaid and James Walker both played well in Armidale's stunning 17-10 victory in the u/14s, who remain undefeated in the new regional competition. The role will begin when the two schools are combined in Term 1 2019. AHS Staff to Participate in "Shadow a Student Challenge" Shadowers Are Part of a Collective Movement of Educators Making Positive Changes in Their Schools Three staff from AHS (Carolyn Lasker, Annette Callister and Fiona Smee) participated in ‘Shadow a Student Challenge' where school leaders come together to "walk in the shoes" of their students and take action at their school. Aboriginal Studies - Art Exhibition

Tuesday 6th March saw the year 9 Aboriginal Studies class present their exhibition of Aboriginal art. Local artists like Nick Levy and Derek Moran featured alongside Stan Dryden and Sally Morgan. The event was enjoyed by many family members and teachers and the students enjoyed showing off their chosen artists' work and details of their lives. Stan Dryden's daughter, Mara told us something of her dad's life and what he is currently working on, and the morning was a great overall learning experience for everyone.... Read more
